Ashbrook Wash over the road
According to NOAA's Storm Events Database, Ashbrook Wash sent 6 to 12 inches of fast water over Fountain Hills Boulevard in July 2021, and in August 2021 it swept a sedan off El Pueblo Boulevard overnight. Flash flooding was reported in town again in 2022, and in September 2025 when Hesperus Wash flooded Richwood Avenue. A car caught in a wash is a comprehensive claim; water in the house needs a flood policy, which homeowners coverage doesn't include.

High-value homes and the rebuild number
Per the Census Bureau, the median owner-occupied home in Fountain Hills is valued at $622,900, and the median home was built in 1994. A home policy should be set to what it would cost to rebuild, which isn't the same as market value, and custom finishes or a hillside lot can push that cost up.

A town license for every location
The Town of Fountain Hills requires every business located or doing business in town to hold a town license before it opens, with a separate license for each location, after Planning and Zoning approves it. The town lists annual renewal at $35 for businesses inside town and $50 for those outside. Per the Census Bureau, 14.3% of Fountain Hills workers are self-employed, and a license covers neither a client's injury nor your equipment.

An older town that works from home
According to the Census Bureau, the median age in Fountain Hills is 61.5 and 30.5% of workers work from home. Later in life, life insurance questions tend to move from replacing a paycheck to leaving something behind, and a home office can hold business equipment that a homeowners policy only partly covers.
